Unit 320 (1.2) Scripts Perpared For Vocal Performances

The script I voice recorded:

The old teacher

[Lights fade in and David the retired teacher is sitting at his old desk whilst a substitute sits at the other side of the desk with a concerned expression]
Sub: I’m sorry David but that’s just not going to fly with the principal.
David: why on earth not?
Sub: because hitting the students with a wooden rod has been illegal for nearly 20 years.
David: oh you lot and your new-fangled health and safety regulations, it’s a wonder you can do anything at all. Back in my day the kids behaved because we showed them discipline the good old-fashioned way.
Sub: by beating every single kid that steps out of line into submission?
David: not at all. We only caned the ones who had been really bad. They acted as an example to keep the rest in line.
Sub: it doesn’t matter if you only hit the troublemakers David, it’s still child abuse.
David: everything’s child abuse these days! Next thing you know it will be “child abuse” to throw the eraser at them from across the class because they’re not paying attention.
Sub: well actually it is
David: well it's getting late. I better be heading off now.
Sub: okay. Thanks for the suggestions David
[The two shake hands and David walks out of the office]
Sub: [slumps back in chair and sighs] well that wasn’t how I expected that to go. In hindsight, maybe I should have asked an active teacher for pointers on controlling a class.

In this I read Sub and chose to be at times sarcastic. Me and my partner added sound effects and I found that we got many laughs at some of the effects we added. The video is in 2.1 Evaluation.

My script that was recorded by others:

Emily: Hey! How have you been? Its been like forever.
Rebecca: I know. I’m stressed out and I just need a break. What about you?
Emily:   I’m ok. Just need a break from work.
Rebecca: How is work? You work in costa, right?
Emily:        Yeah I do. They give me so many hours. Do you have a job yet?
Rebecca: No. I wish I did. Nowhere has got back to me yet. I need a job though.
Emily:        You sort of do. How is your Family?
Rebecca: My Sister is at uni and my Mum and Dad are busy with work. What about you, how is your family?
Emily:        My Mum is still getting over my Dad leaving us but me and my Brother are fine.
Rebecca: Have you seen your dad at all?
Emily:         Yeah I have. His girlfriend is horrible.
Rebecca: Oh. You know you can come round anytime just call first.

Opinion piece on a serious, current news story. Political, environmental, social issues.
Do you think it was right that we were not allowed to vote on an issue that will most likely affect our future? How come OAP's could vote and it wont affect their future? We should have been able to vote on such an important issue. 52% of voters voted leave of which most were the older Generation to be fair it was close but if the scottish young people could vote on becoming independent why were we not allowed to vote on our future. Our future should be in our hands not the hands of some MP who thinks it will be good for our country, and has no idea of what the aftermath will look like, but they have the power to dictate our future.

Opinion piece that is fun, focused on entertainment or human interest.
So is Taylor swift's new album really all that. There was all this hype about it after she took a bit of a break but its not good at all. Its too pop for my liking and i much prefer her country stuff that she started out with. There's always hype that a new album will be amazing but does the hype always mean its going to be a great album. This was true with Adele when she brought out 25 but this is not the case with Taylor when she brought out REPUTATION.  True it sold 1 million copies in the first 4 days but in 2016 when adele brought out 25 it sold more copies than any other release in 2016. So to bring this to a head, I don't really like Taylor Swifts new music and just because theres hype doesn't guarantee it will be a good album. this is sometimes true but you cant expect to like an album because of how talked about it is.
